[NAGDU] Quick question regarding my seeing eye dog

Hi Holly.
She could be cautious about the step because she thinks you might fall. I
think you're on the right track with gentle encouragement and maybe a leash
cue. Also, if she's guiding, be sure you're holding back on the harness,
and not pushing her with it, even a little. This is a failing of mine, and
Krokus doesn't respond well--he tends to stop, as he's been taught.
She's being good, not rushing down the drive to the car.
She could be bored, if you work the same route every day. Sometimes there's
nothing to be done about that, and sometimes there's a way, with some
thought, to change things up a bit.
Glad everything is pretty much going well.
Remember The Eye is only a phone call away.
Tracy

Subject: [NAGDU] Quick question regarding my seeing eye dog

Hey all!!
I have a quick question. My dog has been having a tendency, as of late, to
hesitate going down my front step, and it takes a lot of coaxing and
sometimes a collar coax to convince her to go. The step goes down at an
angle, so could she be afraid because of that. This also happens as we walk
down my driveway but once we're on the sidewalk to do our route, she's
totally fine. As she's guiding me to my parents parked car which is in the
driveway, she's ready to go, as she knows we'll be venturing to another area
to work other than my neighborhood. Is this her way of showing me that
she's getting bored of the small route we take in my neighborhood every day?
Lol she's golden otherwise.
