Generally, just moving the sniffing dog’s nose from the scent won’t work-at least, not for long.

Leash corrections work here for that, as well as a firm “leave it” if you can tell what she’s doing and catch it right away.

It’s natural and normal for dogs to smell their world, so this is a hard habit to break, or curb, at least.
