[NAGDU] prong collar

Dar, I hope the new prong collar gives you better control. I think our
furry partners know when our hands are busy and cannot correct them.
Sometimes I think Eva is just waiting for me to be busy signing something or
paying at the checkout counters to get her chance to play with the people in
line behind us. All the obedience we do at home does not always carry
through when the dog is overly excited or distracted. No matter how long we
have had them, there is always work to be done to keep them under good
control. What I hate is the people who say "oh she should have outgrown
that by now, she is almost four isn't she?" My worst critic is my own
sister and after 41 years she should be used to my dogs. She expects Eva to
be perfect. Eva is a wonderful dog but as we all know, no dog is perfect.

I kind of think having the dog sit when you are signing papers, pouring
water, etc., is a form of obedience that makies the dog just that much
better. I believe you can make the dog do what you want it to do, though for
some dogs it is much easier than for others.
Gotta go start thinking turkey.

Hi Dar.
I hope the prong collar settles your girl down.
I find it helpful to make the dog sit when I'm trying to do something else,
like sign papers, pour water at work, whatever. I don't always remember to
make him do it, but it does help when I do. If he's sitting, he's not
sniffing, usually.

I did get the plastic prong collar today.
I took out two links and I am hoping this will work for her.
You sure need to be a strong woman loll to get the prongs started as well as
getting the collar back together.
It took me a half hour or so to get it all figured out.
Was glad I got the large because I was concerned how small was small.
We will be going into a group this evening, so I will have a chance to test
her with it.
On Monday we went out, where after making the other one smaller, she had no
desire to visit anyone or turn around in the store.
She decided this wasn't a good thing at all.
Today when I got something having to sign for papers, her idea sniffing was
the best thing to do.
I said no, pulling her back where wiggling mom wouldn't know.
I gave back the clip board pulling her back again saying no.
Boy she sure has her own ideas loll.
Just wanted to share,
We will be getting snow, I hope this will help as well as having her slow
down on the ice.
We shall see what happens.
It won't be allot, just know it is going to happen.
Thanks for reading.
