[NAGDU] NAGDU Digest, Vol 145, Issue 22

On Julie’s comment - I’ve written related comments recently. Check out Dr. Becker. You can subscribe to her newsletters. She can be over the top like Dr. Mercola can be. But deduct 30% from what they say and they are great. These two are on a mission. But always on health researchers and reading between the lines on common sense health and what can be done to promote or preserve it.

Commercial dog food is frightening. Most - almost all - of it - is crap. We spend the same money now on species appropriate raw (just a little morning and night, raw meat), because it is what they are built to eat. The enzyme and biochemical content, unaltered, makes cleaner teeth, and cleans up dog breath to sweet in only two days. That’s the first thing. The second, is by now we’ve found only one brand we trust. Origen (and their other label, Acana). They are species appropriate, and high protein. No scud meal, condemned animal parts, or inappropriate carbs. As we understand it, it isn’t high protein that kills kidneys, it is phosphorus. Our dogs self regulate their eating, perfect weight, and are bright and healthy.

About the raw - organic only. Now back to the spending part: After premature animal death from diabetes in the past, traced to food, we’re done with that. We spend the money now, with love, and we figure it will return two things: the same money we would have spent on horrible vet bills on a dog that broke down prematurely and sickened, retired early, or died…and a bright, vibrant dog for their whole lives. Spend the money now!
