[NAGDU] Reserved dog on routes

One thing I would say to you is don't make correction your first go to, especially in this new relationship. The dog could decide that if it can't do anything right why bother. Encouragement is what he needs right now. There may be instances tha do warrant such correction, but try to make corrections few and far between.

The problem has been fixed. My OM instructor went through the route with me and there are visual indicators prompting his behavior. We will have to work through them until he is used to the route.

just my two cent worth at this late point, I see that your guide is only two weeks with you in your home environment, yes i agree it is a bit early to judge the dog’s work as he is still getting use to the owner, and at this stage i cannot think of the person’s name it has been a busy day for me so far, so my apologies here if I cannot think of the person’s name, again i think we were ll in similar positions when we got our first guide all new skills to learn and for the dog to bond with the owner, i have a strong feeling that this partnership will work out in the long term, its just a matter of taking baby steps and building up from therein is also important i think to remember the first steps of training and building from there. Keep up the good work and it will get better for you.

If you are uncertain yourself, you might do well to have someone help you with it, and don't hesitate to call TSE. I had my first dog for 8 months and because of being impatient we never quite bonded. So be patient with him. When he is unsure, encourage him and then when he does the thing praise him with some considerable gusto. Good Boy, Juno! You did it! You are still building as a team. Add in an extra cup of patience.

To cross this particular street, you have to sidestep slightly into parallel traffic. He absolutely refuses to cross it on the return. However, he does cross it without a problem the first time. I wonder if something about the return trip bothers him. Again, he does fine going out, but somewhat falters on the return.
