I don't know of any way to avoid the guide being patted down. You just put
him at sit and they pat him down. It is painless unless your dog takes
exception. I may be slow on these things, but I have always figured
cooperation is the best route on that one.

Hi All
I am just curious when traveling with your guide dog more so when flying
either flights in the U.S. or international flights.  What type of tricks do
people use when going through the metal scanner so it does not go off and
security inform you that they are going to have to pad your guide down.  I
am flying to U.S. fairly soon and I do not want security to mess around with
my guide, so any tips would be great.
