This is off topic. This list is about Guide Dogs mainly. We do have other
things that come from David or others at the national office; this topic
does not. I appreciate the concerns it creates, but please do not post them
here.

Thank you.

Hi Wayne and all,

You have been forgiven forever, smile. Count me in. I've been using JAWS
since about 2003.

How did I keep my sanity? For Windows XP, I had great training, and one of
my trainers taught me how to use an embosser so I could braille my lessons.
I had a three-ring binder notebook in which I kept my notes so I could look
at them whenever I needed to. When I transitioned to Windows 10, I also had
an excellent trainer who explained things in a blind-friendly way.

Congratulations on your screen reader use, and good luck on your journey to
screen reader independence!

Jen

Subject: [NAGDU] A new respect

     Hi,

As a novice screen reader user (NVDA ), I have gained a new respect for the
veteran screen reader users I've interacted with over the years while I was
still able to get along using ZoomText. How in all that's wonderful did you
keep your sanity? Maybe it will get better as my proficiency grows. I can do
alright navigating the NVDA user guide, and thank GOD for the free AFB
tutorial, more complex sites are a bit more problematic, lol. I had
tinkered, in a dilatory manner, prior to really needing to use it. Slowly, I
am getting better with the daily lab sessions, i.e. using NVDA in a
production environment at work and also on my personal comp at home. If I've
ever been impatient with you veteran screen reader users over the years,
please forgive me.

Yours,, Very Sincerely And Respectfully,

Wayne M. Scace
