[NAGDU] Taking my dog to college football games

I think it's far too soon to either leave your dog for so long or to expect your dog to deal with such a situation, especially given the number of issues you have mentioned. I would not have dared to take Dallas, my first dog, to such an environment. He's known, even in retirement, for crawling into laps and shaking at loud noises. One of the reasons I retired him was because he would bolt away at loud noises, causing me to drop the leash. It would be very hard to get him back. My current dog has been to many strange and hectic environments, including singing the alma mater with my choir at a football game, where there were fireworks that we did not expect. I jumped a mile, but she was rock solid. That being said, it will depend on the dog, and I certainly wouldn't do it if my bond with my dog wasn't very strong. Get a dog sitter, or just stay home. It's not worth causing noise fears or separation anxiety for your dog because your partnership is so young yet.

Claire doesn't pay any attention to them. She doesn't even react to cars that backfire less than 20 feet away, yet she can hear me pick up a leash or open a food drawer when she is asleep in a bedroom on the other side of the house. I would be more concerned about a rock concert than about fireworks. Concert volumes are closer and far more damaging to ears than the sound of fireworks explosions that are effectively 300 to 400 yards away even at the stadium, especially when you consider that they are exploding very high up in the sky.
