Hello all,

I receive messages via digest mode, so I am addressing two topics in this
post.

First, I am ashamed that the NY Times would allow such an article with such
a condescending tone. I hope that folks will write letters to the editor
about that.

Second, I am posting a link to a Star-Telegram article written by one of our
reporters about a complaint that I filed against Uber this week after the
driver drove past me and then canceled the trip. Sorry, you will have to
scroll through ads while reading the story. This took place when I requested
a ride home after attending a visitation at a funeral home as a good friend
passed away unexpectedly last week.

Note, the driver was suspended while uber investigates.

I spoke to an Uber customer service agent last night who asked me to recount
what happened. After I reinterated my complaint, he asked me to describe my
guide dog in terms of size and markings. I asked why that was relevant. The
agent responded by saying the driver could have been confused if there were
other people or animals around.

Note, that I did not inform the driver that I have a service dog.

I assured the agent that my friend was the only person waiting with me and
there were no animals around.

Here is the link to the story.
