[NAGDU] Delta to Require Advance Documentation for Service, Support Animals to Fly - WSJ - distemper

Maybe they're asking for distemper because it can cause biting? Or so I've
heard, somewhere.
I don't see how proof of vaccination has any relation to good behavior,
otherwise.

Ummm...I think the whole point of asking questions here is to get to the
facts. At least that's why I ask questions.

they are requiring distemper. that's interesting. To the best of my
knowledge distemper is not a required vaccine anywhere because it is not a
disease communicable to humans. I'd be interested to know what the rationale
is there.

Hey, Julie. I didn't make the policy. I'm just commenting on what I read
in the ACAA and the ADA.

You can get Delta's form here:

https://www.delta.com/content/dam/delta-www/pdfs/policy/TrainedServiceAnimal
-RequiredForms.pdf

They are requiring a vet's signature within the prior year on a form that
lists the date of rabies and distemper vaccinations. It does not require
that the vaccinations be given within the last year.

I really think that people should get the facts before getting their shirts
in a knot.
