[NAGDU] Nylabones

I know many people who give their dogs NylaBones, and a few have had
dogs crack teeth. It is a valid concern to some extent. Here is how I
look at it though. If your dog is not a powerful chewer, I think it is
pretty unlikely she is chewing on the bone so hard it will damage her
teeth. For those with powerful chewers, there's really only two
options:
1. Continue to give hard bones and risk the dog cracking their teeth,
but have a safe option to keep your dog occupied/relieve stress and
provide a way for the dog to keep their teeth clean.
2. No longer offer hard bones to protect the dogs teeth, rely on tooth
brushing or food/water additives to keep teeth clean, but no longer
have anything durable for your dog to chew.

Personally, I continue to give my dogs NylaBones, marrow bones, and
antlers. In my opinion, the risk of teeth breaking is outwayed by the
teeth cleaning and opportunity for play. Soft bones like the rubber
NylaBones are not an option for powerful chewers because they will
tear them apart quicly. Limiting access to bones for short periods of
time also could probably reduce the risk if you have a dog that will
chew for very long periods of time very often.
