[NAGDU] Question And Possible Materials/Resources

Heavens, a dog who would get aggressive while its master is being arrested should be very few. Obviously someone would be called to get the dog the blind person trusts out of the temporary lock up. This could be a relative, another handler, boarding facility. . The dog needs to be kept safe as it did nothing wrong.

Subject: [NAGDU] Question And Possible Materials/Resources

Dear federation family and our lovely tail waggers!
I hope to find everyone well. I want to send our love from the Volunteer state! I had a member of our city visiter center, who provides training and education to local businesses and future officers who are in the academy info on our state laws and how to interract with a service animal user. The question she received recently was if a blindperson or person with a disability was going to be arrested, what would be the protocol or suggestions as to completing the arrest and minimize the risk of the dog becoming aggressive. We talked about some solutions, but I was wondering if anyone has any material or resource that they can share that discusses such a situation.
Finally, we (TAGDU) have finished and are putting some finishing touches on our packet that can be sued to provide education, information, and be used in presentations to officers, precincts, and police academy training centers. Upon its’ completion, I will be sure to share it with anyone interested and President Marion.
Warmly,

James Alan Boehm

There are many reasons why a dog might wet frequently in the home. I had a dog with a small bladder and for that reason, I took her out about 7 times a day. She did not have accidents in the house. Since I knew she had a small bladder I took it upon myself to take her out more frequently. At anyone's house, she was always on leash.

> Sometimes dogs wet shortly after returning home. When that happens a dog should be on leash at all times or in a crate where said dog can see his or her owner. There can be a UTI that causes the problem. Kidney infection is another reason. The one that is common among some dogs is behavioral. The people I have known realized that was an issue. Their dogs didn't mind being in a crate or on tie down.
