I found for me the offset handle helps with crowding my dog. Though my feet do not sit straight but at a outward angle 
I just recently got a custom Y Front guide dog harness from Bridgeport canine equipment
And had to get the offset handle from Julie, because the company only made street handles.

She was able to do a opposite handle with metal clips that were compatible with the D rings on the harness.
