[NAGDU] Musher's Secret

Hi Tracy:

The Musher's Secret or any other paw wax will help the dog not be as
sensitive. Unfortunately some of the ice melting products can still get
stuck to their paws. As Danielle said, the boots work better. I have found
that many dogs do not like walking in them. At least Julie sells the boots
in pairs of two so you can order two different sizes. I might try that for
Eva since I returned a set of four that were much too big for her back paws
and a little too big for her front paws. Julie, if you read this, can you
give us advice on measuring the dogs paws to try and get a better fit? I
measured the length and width at the widest point but the boots were still
so loose that they slipped sideways on her paws. They made her too clumsy
to walk. She finally sat down and refused to move another step until I took
off those ridiculous boots. Now I use paw wax. I put it on about ten
minutes before leaving so it has a chance to soak into her paws. I carry a
washcloth in my pocket to wipe any salt and ice that does manage to get
stuck.

Does the Musher's Secret keep salt from sticking to paws? People throw down
lots of the stuff when snow or ice is expected. I wipe it off Krokus's
feet, but it would be nicer for both of us if it just didn't stick to his
feet at all.

Tracy
