[NAGDU] Masks and orientation

You know this is interesting. I have had moments like that too but couldn't explain them. Then a sighted person told me when she has her mask on, she feels like she can't hear. So I guess it's a phenomenon that's manifesting itself for blind and sighted people but affecting us in different ways.

Oh Tracy, yes, yes, yes. This doesn’t stop me from wearing one but I definitely feel off with the mask. I think we use much more surface area than just our ears when doing echo location and since masks do change the air flow and shape of your head shadow, I’m guessing that’s what the issue is in part.

I do get used to it after a while but wow, those first few minutes are ugly, especially switching from dog to cane now.
