Hi Diane.
I'm so sorry you got COVID, despite your best efforts. I'm glad to hear you
have a mild case. It is so frustrating to have all your plans upended.

The trainer who saw me for the Juno walk asked if I'd be willing to do home
training, or home and away. I said I'd do it any way they want. But they
didn't talk about that for the January class.

Richard, I'm not keen on walking around in the cold, but, given all the
stops and starts, I'm not saying No to anything. It would only lead to
longer delays. I grew up in Montana and lived in Mennesota for a while, so
I know about cold weather. I don't love it, but I can deal with it.

I'm hoping TSE decides they can just start class a bit later, or something.
All I can do is wait and see, which is easier said than done.

I wish all of you a happy holiday.
Tracy

Tracy,

I understand completely. I remember how hard it was for me as I waited to be
placed with my Izzo. I was first refused by Guiding Eyes. They wouldn't
serve me at all. Don't exactly recall what their reasoning was at the time.
Then I got accepted at the Guidedog foundation, and I waited and waited and
waited... for over a year. I was so frustrated. This was prepandemic, of
course. I know it has to be a constant roller coaster for those waiting
now.

This past--almost two years now--has really taken a toll in so many ways. I
am fully vaccinated, and was diagnosed last week with Covid. I am ashamed to
admit that I've been feeling really angry over the past few days, because I
took two weeks vacation from work, and I did not plan to spend half of it
quaranteened in my bedroom. I know I should feel grateful, and I am,
because my symptoms were extremely mild in comparison to those who were
hospitalized and lost their lives. But it is still extremely frustrating
when life is upended like this.

My Izzo has been such a good girl, but I know she is extremely bored, and I
feel so bad for her.

All that to say I understand your frustration completely. Here is a virtual
hug for you. I am going to pray that you get in to a class very soon. If
they have a dog ready for you, has their been any discussion of whether they
would come to do a home training?

Blessings,
Diane Graves

I got a call Tuesday saying that the TSE class I'm in in January has been
postponed. Some of the staff tested positive for COVID. They'll reevaluate
after the holidays.

It's so frustrating and depressing. They thought I might get into the
December class, and sent someone out to give me a Juno walk, since I'm not
very far away. I got excited, but after a week or so they decided they
didn't have a dog for me in that class. Then they called and said they do
have dogs for me in January, and I'm in. Then, with less than 2 weeks to
go, no, I'm not. Well what can you do? How many times during this damn
pandemic have I said that. And, because I thought I'd be going into class,
I gave up any thoughts of traveling to visit family during the holidays.
Another holiday with just me and my husband.

I just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and consider my many
blessings, but still it's depressing.

Tracy
