[NAGDU] doggy repo

Hi, so true. I was told a story from a friend who was contacted by her school about her mistreating her dog on public transport. The guy calling was quite rude and threatening. When the client asked for the dates of such incidence it worked out that she wasn't even in the state at the time instead she was at her parents recovering from knee surgery.

I have only ever heard of one dog in Australia being taken by force and that was a domestic issue. The female owner of the school took her ex's dog back but that was many years ago.

Our contract also has a section about weight being abuse but I can't remember the wording off the top of my head. I would expect it would be if the dog was majorly overweight and the client wasn't doing anything about it.

We have to take our dogs to the vet every six months and a report from the vets needs to be sent to the school. So, this would cover what the weight of the dog was and what they were doing about it. I have never had any issues with weight with my four previous dogs so don't know what the school's reaction would be.

I am now working with my fifth dog and even though he has lab in him he isn't interested in food while in harness. Even when I try and give him a treat for good work he turns his head away and won't take the treat. However, when he is out of harness he is totally food focused. If you are walking around the house with food he follows you and then when you sit down he sits there staring at you.

Bye for now.

Remember, complaints don’t have to be true.
My rule is and Rox said it best, “You treat me like an adult, or we don’t have a relationship”.

Hi;

While I'm at my keyboard: I would have never thought that a school would basically repossess a guide dog unless there were cruelty complaints.
Unfortunately, someone locally had an incident with guide dog foundation when an instructor came out to "help" with an intersection that was a problem. Fortunately she got the dog back from the school after they worked with it and to my surprise will be getting another guide from them soon.

Richard
