And be sure to look at guidelines for returning to your country, too.  Some country’s rules make it hard to get back home with your dog.

I live in canada, but have traveled to the US with my guide dog. I have never experienced an access issue in the places where I have traveled. The closest I ever came to an access issue was a bar owner in butte, montana, who insisted that I sit in a booth instead of at a bar stool because they were concerned about my dog getting stepped on. Ultimately, I prevailed on them and said that I was going to be sitting at the bar stool because frankly I wanted to sit at the bar. Other than that, I had a wonderful experience from an access point of view. I stayed in airbnb accommodations, rather than hotels, so my experience is there were a little bit more complicated. However, I traveled everywhere I needed to with my guide dog and had no problem :-) obviously, your experience may be different, I do know that access issues exist, particularly with ride shares, but I hope you do get a chance to travel and enjoy the United states. If you haven't already, take a look and see what guidelines there are coming from your country into the United states. That might be more of a concern than access issues while traveling. Have fun!
