[NAGDU] Guide dogs, job, ADA law

Hi Amy. It is Title I of the ADA that covers employment and it is a bit different than Titles II and III. I think they could place some restrictions on your dog being right in the food prep area and that a crate where you can still access your dog and supervise her outside the food prep area sounds like a solution your employer should be willing to discuss with you. This is not legal advice of course. Here's a link to the employment page on the access portion of our web site. It contains a link to the Job accommodation Network, which also has helpful resources and can consult both with employees and employers. Hope this helps.

Subject: [NAGDU] Guide dogs, job, ADA law

Hi everyone I have a question about guide dogs in a A job that is in and near a kitchen. I have applied for a job at a cafeteria and I wouldn’t really be doing much food prep but they’re saying that when I apply for a guide dog again that that guy dog could not be in the back in the kitchen. And I had attended a job wo workshop in Oregon that had said that it is possible to have one as long as they’re in a crate that catches hair and it’s a set place for your guy dog to be that it would be allowed. I’m needing to know if there is ADA law that supports that or is it according to your employers if they allow it. And I need proof to of back that up.
