I have not heard about this, and could not find anything online. I am aware of a couple with a non-guide-dog service animal that were recently denied travel with their service animal on Spirit for their return trip, but they missed their flight as a result and were rebooked on a different airline. The dog is fine, so far as I am aware.
If anyone can link me to this story or other stories of guide-dog denials by airlines please do.
