Hi Madison,

I have a lab/golden cross. She is cute, bubbly and very much like a puppy
off duty. Her work is good. When I keep her attention on what we are doing
rather than the cute dog going by, and give her a little encouragement she
is excellent. BTW, that is pretty much the description I would give for all
of my other six dogs which included two goldens, one yellow lab and three
black labs. In short, for me, there are "tendencies" attributed to the
various breeds but I believe that it was more to do with their personality
and their up bringing. Mostly, they all deserve the utmost respect and love
and I do my best to do that. That's true even when I call them a Bumb or a
Bratt if they persist in something that they know they shouldn't this is in
a voice sounding just like "what a good girl". This is better for the public
and provides a better result. I learned this watching my dad who worked with
horses. I once said to him that it was a good thing that the horse couldn't
understand what he was saying to them. He told me that it is the tone of the
voice that keeps their attention on you and helps them relax and focus on
what you need them to do.

I know that each dog is an individual but since it seems like lots of
schools use them for those of you have/have had experience with them what
are their temperaments like? Just curious that's all; thanks for any insight
that anyone can provide me!
