[NAGDU] GDB/Leader Dogs O&M programs

Here, here, Paula! I agree. It is the "orientation and mobility" skills you
need to hone whether using a cane or a dog. As I am sure all of us guide dog
users can attest, there are advantages and disadvantages to both. For
instance, I have an order in for my next dog to tell me what store he/she is
looking at in the mall, that whole pointing at it with their nose is
lacking.

Hi Madison. Just for information, Pilot Dogs in Columbus also offers an O&M
program. I think this is becoming more and more common in guide dog
schools. It's an excellent tool and will help not only your cane skills,
but will transfer to your ability to work with a dog guide.
God bless!

Hi all,
I recently heard of both of them and while I haven't decided if I'd attend
either of them I was just wondering if anyone on here has attended either of
them and if so what was your experience like/what can you tell me about them
in general? I know I could look at the websites which I'll do but I always
enjoy hearing first-hand experiences/thoughts so I look forward to reading
whatever anyone shares! Thanks Madison
