I use Uber, but not very often. I know for a fact that when someone saw my husband and me along with our dogs, he left. I then was told there was no one in the area. For a fact, I know that's not true. Thus, I called again. A woman came and she had no problems whatsoever. In our state, the drivers are told that they are to pick up people with service animals. Most of the time we are fortunate. We used their phone service once, but will never use it again. Just for the call and assistance the charge is $5.00. If there is a cancellaname, there's a $5.00 charge. Even when the driver who left did not pick us up, we were charged $5.00 because a message was sent that we needed to cancel the ord.. By the time we finished, I had to pay $27.00. That was rediculous in my opinion. We try not to use Uber nor Lift. Just to get into the vehicle, it's $6.00 alone. When we reach our destination, the cost is much higher. That was not the case a year ago. Sometimes we have only a few blocks to go and more is still added to the $6.00.

Subject: [NAGDU] ride share services
Hi;
I have been looking at all the issues people are having with ride share
services with a bit of concern. It doesn't exactly make me eager to use
either lift or uber. There was a time that there were no ride share
services and we all survived although it wasn't as convenient. I may stick
with bus and paratransit and not have to wory.
I find it interesting that I ride to church with the same person each week
and have asked about dog hair and was told that there wasn't any. Now they
may have just been polite but I suspect that if it warranted cleaning I
would have heard. I don't think that uber and lift have issues picking up
drunks which could lead to serious clean up issues.
