My brother sent me this, which he got from GDB. The link to the CDC website didn't come through, but it's in the GDB blog post.
Our government is doing all it can to make traveling with a service dog more difficult. But at least this time it only affects people traveling into the US, including returning from abroad, and including visiting Canada.

Dear Tom,

We’d like to draw your attention to recent developments that may have significant implications for Guide Dogs for the Blind’s operations. Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued updated guidelines concerning the importation of dogs into the United States.

This situation is very much still in flux, and we want to convey that we are actively monitoring these changes and assessing the ramifications for our dogs, clients, stakeholders, and operational processes. These new rules will impact nearly every aspect of our business.

In short, the revised regulations will make the process of bringing dogs across the U.S. border more difficult; this includes travel departing the U.S. Notably, puppies under six months of age will not be allowed to enter the U.S.

Click here to read the CDC announcement detailing these amendments, which will be enforced beginning August 1, 2024.
