[NationalHarbor] Urgent Action Needed for HB547

Greetings Everyone,

The House Ways and Means Committee has not taken any action on our
accountability act for accessible K-12 education, HB547, even though they
heard it on February 24. Please write an email or make a phone call to Eric

subcommittee on Early Childhood and Special Education, the first step in
approving the bill.

Next, the bill has to be approved by the entire Ways and Means Committee.

Ask both Chairmen to get HB547 out of committee by Crossover Day, which is
March 21. Tell them that this bill is vital if students with disabilities
are to obtain a quality education. This is not just an education bill, it
is a civil rights bill too. Crossover Day is when all bills must reach the
other house so that there is time for their consideration before the
General Assembly ends on April 11.

The Senate version of this bill has already passed the Senate. Your help is
critical if we are to get the House bill moving. These two chairmen must
hear from the blind of Maryland on Monday or Tuesday, March 14 or 15.
