[Ncabs] Conference Call Topics

I agree with that notion. We need to all effectively communicate outside the call so that we aren't depending on the call as a chance to speak to each other to conduct simple business. That will indeed help keep the time down.

I don't think there should be another call that happens n a pending
basis. I think that the board should hash out business details and
come on the monthly call with a good idea what we are going to do. It
is imperative that you get the opinions of the membership, but perhaps
coming to calls with a few answers in mind to discuss rather than
leaving business open ended will certainly cut down on business time.
I think that half of the call should be dedicated to business, and the
other half, to something more appealing to new callers, and everyone
for that matter. Making philosophy calls separate if the questions are
not reached after an hour of our regular call will cause new callers
to have to call in a second time that month, and we would have to
figure out a date and time that is hopefully feasible for the new
callers. If we want to make joining and staying active as painless as
possible, we need to be as convenient and consistent as possible, and
a potential second call per month wouldn't do that. Perhaps the board
or committees should get together and themselves decide times to talk
prior to conference calls.
