Hey all;

I am really starting to look in to a university to transfer in to in a
year. I am reaching out to you all for help with this. I have been
going to a small college that is just a quarter of a block away from
my apartment. These last three and half years of living on my own and
the time that I have been in college has helped me come up with a list
of things to think about before moving again.

First off I want a town that has great, I mean great transportation. I
hate not being able to go grocery shopping or whatever because of the
transportation.

Second, I have two cats and am planning to get a guide dog right before I move.

Third I have always lived in small towns so a big town scares me so
bad, but excites me all at the same time. I would like things to kind
of be close together and not miles apart. I do not want to have to
take half an hour ride to the store in one way and another half hour
ride to class another way etc this is how OKC is and I hated it. You
drove half an hour to get to any place.

Fourth you’re probably wondering what kind of university I am looking
for by now, so here goes. I have not much of a clue. I would like one
that is great for a blind person, meaning that I would like to have a
university that would work with me with my classes. I really can’t
complain about this college I am going to now, they are great. I do
not mind online stuff as long as I can do it. Mean it being
accessible. A small campus, meaning all classes at one place and not
all over town would be great. I am working on getting a degree in
human service tech so the college would have to provide this degree.

Fifth is the cost. I am on SSI and of course do not get much. I am
thinking maybe about getting a part time job if I can but I could not
afford a $800 apartment. I will not live on campus. I went to the
blind school in OK and lived on campus for five years and I have had
more than my share of that. Plus I have my cats and will not give them
up for a dorm. I am also not a huge fan of room mates, I might
consider it but would prefer not to have to go down that road.

If anyone has any ideas, tips or knows something that I should be
looking in to that I have not listed, please let me know. You can
email off list if you like.
thanks
