[Ncabs] Another Call about Boycott?

Right. A lot of the opposition has not been voiced over the phone and isn't in email form. I think we could cover a lot more ground in one go if we met with someone over the phone.

Whoever we could have on the call would be a fellow Federationist and would not be there to fight anyone; it would be to educate those who remain improperly educated about the issue. If you understand before the call what it is that you need to learn in order to become comfortable with the boycott, we could all benefit from hearing the same questions answered and ensure that they are answered to our satisfaction.

I'm sensing a slight hint that maybe some of us (and I'm not saying anyone in particular) wish to oppose the Federation and are attempting to use this as an opportunity to do so rather than oppose the issue itself. I want this discussion to be about the issue itself rather than the Federation. If we're on the call and just talk freely, like one sibling to another without a fear of being judged, we can talk about our feelings about the issue and the gaps in our understanding.

Also, I know Cindy's emails were kind of long, but they have addressed the issues raised and covered them pretty thoroughly. Perhaps gaps in people's reading comprehension skills-because we're all human and may not absorb everything we hear from our screen readers-are a reason why trying to continue via email is not going to be effective. With a Q & A cadence, we might find better results.

Correct, I was not implying that a national rep do that, if they want to join the conversation they could start now and we could ask our questions again if they haven't already been addressed. Besides, there really haven't been that many emails concerning this subject, and most of the opposition on the email list has been from me (not to say that others don't oppose it)

Thanks,

Kevin

I do not think Kevin was actually suggesting we specifically ask a
national representative to sift through a backlog of emailed messages
to address the difficulties that some of us are having with the
boycott. Rather, I think he was simply saying that he prefers
discussion between ourselves through email because we can all think
about our responses before we engage in discussion.
