*November 17, 2012*
*Raleigh, North Carolina*
*YOU’RE INVITED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!*
Children and adults with visual impairments are regularly excluded from
mainstream athletic events.
Raising Cane invites you to run or walk as an individual or as a team with
friends, colleagues, and family. By doing so you will empower all
individuals, including persons with visual impairments, to get moving and
increase participation in sports promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Raising Cane 5K and A Walk in the Dark are one-of-a-kind events in North
Carolina! The race is open to all community members and is tailored to the
needs of athletes with visual impairments. Proceeds from the race support Camp
Abilities NC, a sports camp for children and teens with vision impairment.
Prizes given to the top finishers. Free t-shirts to runners and walkers
that register by November 7, 2012. Volunteers needed.
