NCABS Minutes
Start: 9:40pm
End: 10:15pm
Attendance: Veronica (secretary), Kevin (1st vice president), Alan
(president), Bobbi (2nd vice president), Lauren, Alanna, and Eric

Presidents Report: Alan discussed hotel reservations and schedule for
Wrightsville Beach. We are expecting about 20 students.

1st Vice Presidents Report: Kevin discussed some questions he had
regarding blind parents raising children and how blind people access
grocery stores. Those present shared stories and a discussion ensued
regarding concerns, thoughts, suggestions, and ideas.
2nd Vice Presidents Report: See National Convention report.
There were no treasurer or secretary reports.

National Convention: Bobbi and Veronica provided a brief overview of their
experience at National Convention. Alan, Veronica, and Bobbi attended. They
attended Salsa night, general sessions, and other workshops. Meeting
others was the best part!

State Convention: Alan advised everyone to register with NCABS for State
Convention to receive the student rate. Do not register with NFB of
NC. Anyone
who wants the student discount must go through NCABS.
Committees: Alan proposed the establishment of four committees, including
publicity, fundraising, social, and scholarship. The scholarship committee
will focus on developing procedures for use of monies to support member
involvement in NFB activities, such as attending conventions. The social
committee will focus on developing ideas to increase participation in NCABS
outside of monthly calls. Alanna and Lauren volunteered to serve on
committees. Eric will talk with Alan later.
There was no other business to discuss.
