George Floyd Rally Route Changes

June 5, 2020 - June 6, 2020

On Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th, MATBUS routes will be rerouted away from downtown Fargo due to potential safety concerns. Instead of transferring at the downtown transfer hub, Fargo Routes 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18 will transfer near the Holiday Station Bus Shelter and Route 16 will only transfer at West Acres. In addition, Route 11 will not be operating. Moorhead Routes 1, 2 and 4 will begin and end at the shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall (previously the LinkFM shelter). The timetables will not change; however, expect longer layovers at the LinkFM Shelter. For passengers wanting to travel between Fargo and Moorhead, there will be a shuttle bus between the Marriott Transfer Hub and the West Acres Transfer Hub. Outbound: Route 1 will begin at the LinkFM shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall, turn right onto 7th Street to Center Avenue, then left onto Center Avenue to 8th Street and then right onto 8th Street where it will continue on its regular route.  

Inbound: Route 1 will travel west on Main Avenue to 4th Street, turn right onto 4th Street to Center Mall Avenue, then turn right and travel to the LinkFM shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall.

Outbound: Route 2 will begin at the LinkFM shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall, then turn right onto 7th Street to Center Avenue, turn left onto Center Avenue to 8th Street, then right onto 8th Street to Main Avenue, then left onto Main Avenue towards Hornbacher's and continue on its regular route.  

Inbound: Route 2 will travel west on Main Avenue to 4th Street, turn right onto 4th Street to Center Mall Avenue, then turn right and continue to the LinkFM shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall.

Outbound: Route 4 will begin at the LinkFM shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall, turn left on 7th Street to 1st Avenue, then turn right onto 1st Avenue and continue on its regular route. 

Inbound: Route 4 will leave Park View Terrace, travel south to Center Mall Avenue, then turn left and continue to the LinkFM shelter on the north side of the Moorhead Center Mall.

Route 13 will be rerouted on June 5 and June 6 to provide service to both Route 13 passengers and Route 11 passengers. It will no longer access stops along NP Ave or in the NDSU Campus, but will service locations such as the VA Hospital, and the northern Sanford hospital.

Outbound: Route 14 will begin its route at the Holiday Station Bus Shelter located at the intersection of 1st Ave N and 12th St N and it will travel along University Dr until it returns to its regular route. 

Inbound: Route 14 will continue on its regular route until 10th St S, where it will take a left. It will follow 10th St to 1st Ave N where it will take a left and return to the Holiday Station Bus Shelter.

Outbound: Route 17 will begin its route at the University Manor Bus Shelter located at the intersection of 2nd Ave N and 12th St N it will take a left from 12th St N onto 1st Ave N. From 1st Ave N it will take a left onto 10th St N. It will continue on 10th St N to 4th Ave N where it will take a left. It will continue on 4th Ave N and take a left onto University Dr. From University Dr it will take a right onto 3rd Ave N and return to its regular route. 

Inbound: Route 17 will take a right from 3rd Ave N onto University Dr. It will then take a left from University Dr onto 2nd Ave N. It will take a right onto 12th St N and return to the University Manor Bus Shelter.

This shuttle will be available for passengers to transfer between the Fargo and Moorhead MATBUS systems. It will start at the Marriott in Moorhead and travel on I-29 and I-94 until it reaches West Acres.
