Report on November meeting

National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska-Senior Division

(9 members were in attendance)

The NFBN Senior Division monthly call was held November 17, 2014. The guest
speaker was Rosalee Sheppard, of the Alzheimer's Association, Midland
Chapter. Ms. Sheppard spoke about Alzheimer's, a type of dementia, that is
so common among older individuals. After giving an overview of the disease,
Ms. Sheppard emphasized the importance of healthy living and exercise to aid
in blood flow to the brain to assure good brain health. Ms. Sheppard led
discussions concerning being a care giver for a person with Alzheimer's as
well as where to find assistance in dealing with the disease. Ms. Sheppard
gave some tips in recognizing Dementia.

The last half hour concerned the keeping and reporting of
minutes of the regular monthly meetings and also the Board meetings of the
Senior Division. A motion was made, seconded and carried that the next
meeting would be a meeting of the Board in December and final decisions on
meeting reports would be made. The next monthly call for the members will be
in January. President Robert Newman reported that he will be working on
getting a representative from another State Senior Division to come on a
future call to report and give ideas on what other NFB State Senior
Divisions are doing.

Meeting adjourned at 8 PM central time.

Respectfully yours,

Robert Leslie Newman

President, NFBN Senior division

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future.

Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low
expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams.

You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
