Yes, I did make sure the map was running. Not sure why but the map is completely silent until I turn voiceover off, even if I don’t want to hear the descriptions. I will try restarting my phone to see if that helps. Man though you are right, it is Really Cool! This could even make Brad appreciate your iPhone.

So glad you have the app, Chris. So far, I have not found it necessary to turn voiceover off to experience the rumble map. The instructions do talk about turning voiceover off if a person wants to hear the descriptions in the recorded narrator's voice rather than that of voiceover. 

Have you made sure that the Rumble Map  is  running? My experience up to now is that it is inactive when the button is initially pushed. 

This is so cool.

12:00 PM EDT as the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and solar astrophysicist Henry "Trae" Winter put on a special, pre-eclipse live event geared with the blind and visually impaired in mind.

(3)  The ACB Radio Interactive Channel will be offering narration of the solar eclipse.  Go to http://www.acbradio.org/interactive.  The Audio Description Project, an initiative of the American Council of the Blind (ACB) along with the Mid-Tennessee Council of the Blind, the Tennessee School for the Blind, and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, will host this audio description of the solar eclipse.

Between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM EDT, Dr. Joel Snyder will host an event titled, "A Total Eclipse - Audio Described," on ACB Radio Interactive.
