Hi You All
RE: Joining, or paying your next year's dues, and a list of our current
members; we welcome guests
Note: those of us who will be at convention next month (Oct. 13-14-15) will
be paying dues; essentially for the next year - October to October (that is
just what we do). There again, a person can join at any time during the
year; though, around convention time, we all try to anti-up our dues; verses
tracking down through all the months of the year to see who is due, now! (If
someone new joins a month or two prior to convention, we do not require them
to again pay up at convention time.)
The dues are $10.00 per year. Whit that, you are not only a member of the
Senior Division, but also of the Nebraska affiliate, and a member of the
overall national organization of the NFB.
Plus, you now qualify to receive the leading publication of the National
Federation of the Blind, The Braille Monitor. It covers the events and
activities of the NFB and addresses the many issues and concerns of the
blind.
The Braille Monitor offers a positive philosophy about blindness to both
blind readers and the public at large; serves as a vehicle for advocacy and
protection of civil rights; addresses social concerns affecting the blind;
discusses issues relating to employment, education, legislation, and
rehabilitation; and provides news of products and technology used by the
blind.
To learn more about our flagship publication, consider Kenneth Jernigan's
1993 article entitled, "Concerning History and the Braille Monitor." The
Braille Monitor has been the voice of the nation's blind since 1957.
PLEASE NOTE: Robert can assist you in getting setup to get this mag.
Subscriptions are available in large print (14-point), in Braille, USB drive
that will work in your NLS digital talkingbook player, or by signing up to
receive the Monitor via email.
To Pay Dues: Dues can be sent to our Division's treasurer, Cheryl
Livingston; find her contact info in the 2017 membership roster below.
