Good evening All,

Please find the Secretary's Report for tonight's meeting pasted in and attached. Please let me know if you find any errors. I didn't change the formatting for Cheryl's report, like I used to do, so I hope it's OK. Any feedback will be very much appreciated.


NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND OF NEBRASKA SENIOR DIVISION SECRETARY's REPORT

The NFBN Senior Division met via Zoom on Monday, August 8, 2022. President Robert Newman called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM CDT. Members present were: President Robert Newman, Vice President Barbara Loos, Secretary Linda Mentink, Treasurer Cheryl Livingston, Board Member Nancy Oltman, Christine Boone, Jo Boshart, Paula Cellar, Gina Finnell, Geralyn Konruff, Brad Loos, Steve Senteney, and Jerry Whitlow. Guests present were: Dorothy Babel and Kathy Brahmer from Nebraska and Richard Thomas from New Jersey.

Robert recited our NFB Pledge. Geralyn will recite it next month.

Linda read the June Secretary's Report. There were no additions or corrections, so it will be made a part of the permanent record of the organization.

Cheryl read the August Treasurer's Report. It will be made a part of the permanent financial record of the organization.

Those who attended the National Convention shared highlights. We talked about a resolution that was passed to get more Federal money for Older Independent Blind. Robert asked questions. We will discuss our Pledge and our one-minute message line by line during upcoming meetings.

Jerry explained what she does as our membership person. We discussed how to get in touch with those who have been on our calls before.

FUNDRAISING. Paula reported that the committee had a meeting last Saturday to work out some of the details of the auction. Nancy said that they will start advertizing it in September. They will contact David Andrews about putting it on the NFBNET list. Robert is writing information up, and will contact Mike Hansen. Tricia will send pictures for the advertisement. The committee's next meeting is September 8.

Robert has not heard anything from Vanda Pharmaceuticals.

Nancy mentioned a show with description that she saw on TV.

We talked a little about the summit that will be held August 30 through September 1.
We shared brags and drags.

There was no further business, so we adjourned at 8:33 PM CDT.
