The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska is proud to partner with
the 

Omaha to London runners

for Furlongs for Paws!  This event is a 5K and 1K held on the same day this
year as the world-famous TCS London Marathon. Proceeds from this event
benefit the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association which is an official
charity of the TCS London Marathon chosen by the Omaha to London Runners.

 

The Omaha to London Runners have asked to partner with the NFB of Nebraska
in this and future events to raise funds and awareness of blindness!

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to kick off blindness Equality Achievement
Month (BEAM)!  We encourage members from across the state to participate in
the event either by walking/running or assisting with packet hand-out and
talking with participants about blindness!  Volunteers are needed for both
days! 

 

About the Event:

Furlongs For Paws 5K and 1K

run 25 Furlongs with, or without, a dog! 

How long is a furlong you ask? It's 1/8 mile! Twenty-five furlongs is a 5K!

 

Furlongs for Paws 5K and 1K is a chip timed race by Precision Race Results. 

Precision Race Results has been described as "one of the most professional,
accurate, and well-rounded timing companies in the country."

Furlong For Paws is Nebraska RRCA insured.

 

When & Where:

Sunday, October 2nd, 2022

8:00 AM (Central) 5K Begins

9:00 AM (Central) 1K Begins

 

Walnut Creek Recreation Area 

11601 South 96th Street

Papillion, NE

Approx. 3.15 miles around the lake.

 

Packet Pickup:

Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at Walnut Creek Recreation
area.

Sunday, October 2, 2022, 6:30 am-7:30 am at Walnut Creek Recreation area.

Before September 30th for $35.00.  

Registration is available the day of the event, but the price will increase
by $10.00. A t-shirt is not guaranteed after September 15th.

The registration fee of $35.00 will cover the following categories:

*	5K Runner
*	5K Walker
*	5K Runner/Walker with Dog
*	5K Running Team - Runner with Guide

2022, but it will be $45.00 with no guarantee of a shirt.

* Top Male Masters Runner (40 and over) without dog

* Top Female Masters Runner (40 and over) without dog

* Top 3 Dogs

* Top Masters Dog (6 years or older)
