Hey guys,
Here is a message from our state president about a bill that has been
introduced in Nebraska. This has the potential to really change things in
Lincoln, as well as across the state. Please, please, please come out on
Tuesday in support of the bill, particularly if you live in Lincoln. If you
can't attend the hearing, I urge you to call the members of the committee
and tell them that you are in favor of the bill.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or Jeremy Fifield, who
has been following this fairly closely.
Thanks,
Karen
Greetings Fellow Federationists:
This is a call for action for help with LB889. This legislation seeks to
change provisions relating to rates, fares, and certificates of convenience
and necessity for taxicabs. Our friend, Senator Bill Avery is the sponsor of
this bill.
If you are frustrated with public transportation in this state, then you'll
want to give this one your utmost attention.
A hearing on LB889 is scheduled Tuesday, January 31st at 1:30 PM in Room
1113.
I urge you to contact the senators on the Transportation and
Telecommunications Committee (listed at the bottom of this message after the
bill summary of intent) and urge them to support this legislation.
