Herbert Francis Radcliffe, age 83, fell into a blissfully long nap on April 9, 2023 in Pahrump, Nevada, surrounded by family after his journey with cancer and Parkinson’s disease. He was born, along with his twin sister Flora Ellen “Taffy” on September 21, 1939 to Melvin Ernest and Gloria (McDonald) Radcliffe at the US Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He never knew his father, who was killed in WWII. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves from 1961 to 1967. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, and twin sister Taffy Bogart. He is survived by his wife, Carol Radcliffe, children and spouses: Kevin and Alicia Radcliffe, Dee Ann Radcliffe and Rob Judd, Caroline and Scott Colson, and Shelley Nevis. Also survived by sister Lynda Giese, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was a member of the newly formed “Southern Nye County Chapter, NFB, Nevada. He was the first vice president and helped write the constitution. His illnesses made him step down as vice president. He served 30 years in the Reno Fire Department.
