Plan an adventure, explore the city, discover inclusive culture and capture
the moments that matter, all with your iOS or Android phone. You're Invited
to summertime workshops at the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book
Library this Saturday, July 18. Register for one workshop or all three by
calling (212) 621-0627 or emailing chanceyfleet at nypl.org - we hope to see

On the Move: Apps and Web-based Resources for Independent Travel. 10:30 AM
- 12:30 PM. This workshop will introduce patrons with low or no vision to
apps and web tools for public transit information, finding local
businesses, discovering accessible cultural events and more. By popular
demand, we’re including an overview of Seeing Eye GPS and Blindsquare
during this session.

Mobile Photography and Videography with Low or No Vision:  1:30 - 3:30 PM.
Find out how to take, organize and share photos and videos. We’ll cover
basic principles to help you understand what makes a “good” picture; a
rundown of accessible apps for working with photos and videos; and an
overview of apps that use your smartphone’s camera to describe what it sees.

Apps for Independence discussion: 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM. Stay after the prior
workshops to network with other mobile explorers and share your favorite
apps, tips and tricks.

We're located at 40 West 20th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in
Manhattan. Our workshops are free and people of all abilities are welcome
to register and attend.
