Tuesday October 3
5:00 PM - 6:45 PM
The world is full of spatial information. It’s on the Google map of that
tricky intersection near Lincoln Center. It’s in every art museum and every
science
lab. It’s on the front of your holiday cards, and it’s in the infographics
and charts on the evening news

Whatever your level of vision, you can learn, think and create in three
dimensions.

Please join us for an evening of spatial discovery on Tuesday, October 3rd
from 5:00 to 6:45 PM.

• Experience tactile maps, library floor plans and images produced on the
Everest tactile graphics embosser, a generous gift of the New York State
Commission
for the Blind.

• Explore freehand and computer-assisted tactile drawing with TactileView
software.

• Take a hands-on tour of the LulzBot Taz 6 3D printer, meet community
members who are creating 3D objects with accessibility in mind, and learn
about
what this emerging technology means for nonvisual equity of access.

• Find out how you can get involved by learning the ABCs (actually, the
XYZs) of accessibility in three dimensions. Sign up for an upcoming
community workshop
where you can learn how to create your own tactile graphics and 3D models.

We welcome all community members including patrons who need nonvisual
access, teachers and other professionals, family members, hobbyists,
artists, developers
and community allies of all kinds.

This event takes place at the Andrew Heiskell Braille & Talking Book
Library, 40 West 20th St in Manhattan. You may register by phone at (212)
621-0627,
or by emailing
ChanceyFleet at nypl.org.
If you can’t make the event but would like to participate in the Dimensions
project or get more information, please email or call!

This program is funded through The New York Public Library's Innovation
Project, which is made possible by a generous grant from the Charles H.
Revson
Foundation.
