Join us Tuesday February 20 from 5:00 to 6:45 PM to talk about ways to make
wayfinding and transit more accessible!
Subway trains and stations are full of signs that help riders know where
they are and where they're going. This signage is not always useful to
people
who are blind or visually impaired. Antonio Guimaraes is creating braille
booklets listing the lines and stations for subways and is seeking feedback
from
braille readers. The subway booklets include a list of lines and stations,
plus transfer points along the way. Join us and provide feedback on the
booklet
and its layout and features. Your feedback will help create a more useful
product for blind readers.
Plus, join a hands-on brainstorming session on tactile symbols for maps and
floor plans, using the library's drawing tools!
