In January there are a lot of great calls coming up.

 

The first call of the month was this past Sunday, the 13th of January at
7:00 P.M. , my deepest apologies to Carl, as this monthly reminder has gone
out after the seniors group call has taken place. In future, the monthly
events email will come out on the first day of each month.) I hope the call
was a great success, and again, I extend my apologies to Carl and the Blind
Seniors Group.

 

Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 15th will be the At-Large chapter's monthly call.
The call will take place at 8:00 P.M. The call-in info follows:

This Sunday the 20th will be the monthly NYAGDU conference call. This will
be the first in a series featuring a different guide dog school and what
makes them unique each month. We will have Lucas Frank from the Seeing Eye
to speak about their unique take on clicker training paired with an auditory
target and other features of the Seeing Eye's training program. The call
will be at 8:00 on January 20th using the following call-in information:

Next Tuesday, January 22nd there will be a New York Parents of Blind
Children conference call at 8:00 P.M. Topics will include thee Braille
Readers are Leaders contest, the importance of teaching Braille to all
visually impaired children, a discussion of the Braille Bill and the process
of helping older blind students to decide when and how to use Braille in
conjunction with recorded, large print, and electronic formats. Call-in

The last call of the month will be the Blind Parents of New York on
Wednesday, January 23rd at 8:00 P.M. This month they will be discussing the
topics of screen time, internet security and technology supervision from an
accessibility standpoint. This discussion may be helpful to others who work
with or care for children where technology is used, so feel free to join in
the call.
