[New-york-news] NFBNYS Conference Call Calendar for 2019

Please find below a cumulative calendar of all of the conference calls
planned, at this time, for the various groups, chapters and divisions of the
NFBNY, for 2019, all in one place. There is a key of abbreviations, followed
by a calendar, in a list format of the following information in the
following order:

Day of the week, month, day of the month, year, name of group/division, type
of call being held. There are line breaks in-between the months and all
events are presented in chronological order. After the list form calendar is
a brief description of each group, chapter, or division with their call-in
number, access code, time of their calls, name of their president/organizer
and a very short description of who is encouraged/invited to attend each
organizations' calls. Please note, not all calls take place on the same
conference call lines or at the same start times as the other calls, so
please check the description of the organization that you are interested in
for their specific times and call-in details. Currently listed are: monthly
conference calls for guide dog users, blind parents, blind seniors, and
parents of blind children, monthly meeting calls for the at large chapter,
and quarterly board meeting calls for guide dog users and parents of blind
children. Please stay up-to-date as Mike will announce executive board and
affiliate board calls as needed (the first Sunday of the month has been left
free of any other calls for such purposes, but the affiliate may be
scheduling additional calls at their discretion, so please check New York
News for such updates.) and also keep an eye out as the NYABS, blind
students may be holding calls in the future. Monthly reminders of just that
month's events will be sent out, and individual call organizers may be
posting week ahead, day ahead or other types of reminders as well.

The New York Association of Guide Dog Users (NYAGDU) is a division of the
NFBNYS Which holds monthly conference calls and also quarterly board
meetings by phone and is made up of current, past and prospective guide dog
handlers with dogs from schools across the United States and owner trainers
as well. Other service dog handlers and any individuals interested in the
rights of guide dog handlers and the experience of working a guide dog are
also welcome. Monthly conference calls are typically held on the third
Sunday  of each month, at 8:00 P.M. and the quarterly board meeting calls
typically take place, on the 2nd Sunday of the month, at 8:30 P.M. every 3
months (Dec, Mar, Jun and Sept). The call-in number is (605) 475-4786 and

The New York Parents of Blind Children (NYPBC) is a division of the NFBNYS
which holds monthly conference calls and quarterly board meetings by phone,
as well as organizing some in-person activities throughout the year and
supporting the NYS BELL program. NYPBC is made up of parents and families of
blind children, TVI, O and M, and AT instructors and others concerned with
the future of children who are blind. Monthly conference calls are typically
held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8:00 P.M., and quarterly board
meeting calls typically take place on the 2nd Sunday of the month, at 8:30
P.M. every 3 months (Nov, Feb, May, and Aug). The call-in number is (605)

Blind Parents of New York (BPNY) is a special interest group of the NFBNYS
which holds monthly conference calls to which blind parents,
foster/adoptive/single or grandparents, or other blind individuals who care
for children, such as teens who babysit or professional childcare workers
are welcome. The calls are typically held on the 4th Wednesday of each month
at 8:00 P.M. The call-in number is (605) 475-4786 and the pass code is

The At-Large Chapter, ALC is a chapter of the NFBNYS made up of those
individuals who wish to participate in the NFB of new York State but do not
have a readily accessible local chapter in their area. The At Large chapter
often has guest speakers and great topics on their calls and non-members
interested in the call topic are welcome to attend the calls. Calls are
typically held on the Third Tuesday of every month at 8:00 P.M. The call-in

The Blind Seniors Group, BSG, is a special interest group of the NFBNYS
which holds monthly conference calls to which senior citizens who are blind,
newly blind, or going blind are invited. Calls are typically held on the
second Sunday of every month, from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. Please note on
the calendar you will see BSG calls on the same dates as quarterly board
meeting calls for the NYPBC and NYAGDU. The BSG calls end at 8:30 and the
QBM calls begin at 8:30, so those wishing to attend both calls will be able
to do so. Please also note that these two calls take place on different

the division is not holding regular conference calls but they may be doing
