Touch Tour

Join the Tenement Museum for a pilot of our newest Touch Tour! Visitors will get the chance to experience new content and give feedback to improve this tour. 

Visitors will participate in an orientation session using tactile models of our historic tenement as well as architectural features before going on a tour that will include touch objects, verbal description, and assistive technology. The orientation and tour will be two hours long, followed by a reception featuring local Lower East Side foods.

Thursday June 20th from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM 

Under One Roof Part 2

Under One Roof carries the immigration story into the present with the experiences of newcomers who settled on the Lower East Side after World War II. Learn about the Wong siblings and growing up in Chinatown in the 1970s. Visit an interactive, recreated Chinatown garment shop that highlights the story of their mother and other Chinese garment workers in the 1980s.

3rd Floor - Ages 6 + Permitted - accessible via elevator

This tour is wheelchair accessible.
