It helps to have individuals who have combined vision and hearing loss to add themselves to the registry, it is confidential and for data information purposes only for the DeafBlind census. The data helps support any programs and services needed in a particular state. For instance in Texas they are trying to setup a SSP/Co-Navigator service and the HKNC registry or DeafBlind census count was able to help the state identify the number of DeafBlind individuals in the state of Texas.
