[NFB-Blind-Crafters] Decorated hat

I'm thinking of knitting a hat to which I could attach decorations.  For
instance, I might attach ears to it to be part of a Halloween costume.  At
other times, I might attach flowers, or just leave it plain, though it would
still have the buttons or whatever for attachments.

I'm thinking I could put small buttons on the hat, like shirt buttons, and
put small buttonholes in the things I want to attach to it.  Or perhaps I
could make large knots that would serve as buttons.  

Has anyone made something like that?  What did you do?
