[NFB-Blind-Crafters] Knitting and jury duty

I'm back!  They turned us loose around 11:30.  Guess all the potential
trials were settled out of court.

 

They didn't say a word about my knitting.  It was in my backpack, along with
my eReader and my lunch.  I put the bag on the conveyor belt to be X-rayed
and picked it up on the other side of the metal detector, no problem.  Thank
goodness, too.  I got a lot of knitting done, waiting to see if I'd be
called.

 

I remember Madame Defarge from Tale of Two Cities.  Kind of a hero of mine.
I occasionally attend town council meetings and knit, of course.  I amuse
myself by thinking of Madame Defarge, looking out for bad behavior and
taking names.

 

A friend of mine fought for the right in New Jersey for blind people to
serve on juries.  We are as competent as anyone else who might serve.  I'm
glad to hear that Becky, and maybe others, have done it, too.
