[NFB-Blind-Crafters] Swatch

I was having trouble measuring my swatch and getting gauge, and I thought I
wasn't getting gauge.  So I took it to my knitting group today and showed it
to our most experienced knitter, who loves to help people out with their
knitting.  

She said that a swatch needs to be measured on the center 4 inches, not the
whole thing.  I didn't know that.  I think it might be hard for me to
measure in the center and count the stitches, unless I measure right by the
needle, and that might throw the length off.  I'll try it when I get farther
along, since I've cast on now.

I wasn't getting gauge, but I like my fabric with the needle I'm using, so
she helped me figure out that, if I make the next smaller size with my
biggerstitches, I'll get the right size.  Yay, and whew!
