Something you can use is sticky-back weather stripping found in most
hardware or home improvement stores. You can get it in many different
widths. So if you want a 1/2-inch seam allowance, you would purchase the
1/2-inch weather stripping. Then you would line up one edge of the stripping
with the edge of your fabric. If you are using a machine to sew, you might
need to take into consideration the width of the foot just to the right of
the needle when selecting the width of stripping. If you are hand sewing,
then you would want to get the exact width you need and sew along the
stripping edge. Once your sewing is complete, you can remove the stripping,
place it on some waxed paper or parchment paper and use for another project.
