[NFB-Braille-Discussion] Braille transcribing question

Oh yes, I still use both a Perkins and slate and stylus, occasionally. As a transcriber for a large school district, I get a variety of work to do. I may have to draw a map or graphic by hand because the embosser doesn't give the right feel for the graphic. Sometimes I correct a minor mistake in braille with the slate, or I'll braille a graphic with a slate because it won't fit in the Perkins.
I'm lucky to have this variety and the tools to complete the work so the students have books and handouts as equal as possible to their peers. Plus it's fun to do different braille and graphic projects.

If it is just for fun, whatever you like! If it is to increase speed and accuracy, try some Braille Kernel Books. They are easy reading, short narratives, and interesting to most. Braille magazines are also great for improving Braille reading speed and accuracy.
